CGTN President Maduro amid U.S. pressure: ‘Venezuela will never be a slave’

Amid increasing tensions with the United States, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro pledged “absolute loyalty” to the Venezuelan people at a rally in Caracas on Monday. This came amid escalating tensions with the U.S., which has recently designated an organization linked to Maduro as a foreign terrorist organization and deploying a carrier strike group to the Caribbean. He concluded that the country seeks “a peace of sovereignty, equality, and freedom,” not “a slave’s peace.”
