More than 1,000 people gathered on Friday night in front of the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo to protest against Sanae Takaichi’s remarks on Taiwan. The demonstration comes amid continued stern responses from China urging Takaichi to withdraw her comments. “I don’t think Takaichi will retract her remarks,” one resident told CGTN. “I think the best solution is to remove her from the prime minister’s position.”
