CGTN Hot Take: China builds high-speed rail tunnel beneath its largest river

China just dug a high-speed rail tunnel 89m below the Yangtze River – using the world’s largest, smartest tunneling machine.
14km long, designed for 350km/h trains. The machine? 4,000 tons, 15.4m wide, with 500+ sensors and an AI brain. Attended but unmanned. Tofu-soft riverbed? No problem. Part of a 2,000km economic corridor linking coast to hinterland.
