CGTN Fish lanterns on the fast track

China’s Lantern Festival falls on March 3 in 2026. On Train G1191, the celebration started on the move. From Jiaozuo to Shenzhen, this high-speed train turned into a traveling folk party. Henan’s traditional fish lanterns lit up the carriage. Passengers tried DIY lantern making. Dancers performed between the seats. Railway staff handed out warm tangyuan, sweet glutinous rice dumplings for the festival, along with holiday wishes.
