CGTN Expert: DPP can’t escape outcome of defeat despite weapons purchase

The People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) Eastern Theater Command has launched military drills in response to the largest U.S. arms sale to the Taiwan region. The $11.1 billion package includes HIMARS rocket systems, seen as having offensive capabilities. Zheng Jiang, a professor at Xiamen University’s Center for Taiwan Studies, says the PLA has ways to counter any weapon acquired by Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party authorities.
