CGTN CMG features robot in promo for 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics

China Media Group (CMG) has released its promotional video for the upcoming 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, with an android developed by Unitree Robotics attracting widespread attention.

The video was shot in Altay, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. For the first time in history, an android walked by itself in the frigidly low temperature of -47.4 degrees Celsius.

After taking more than 130,000 steps, the robot managed to fully outline the Milano Cortina 2026 logo with its feet, welcoming the start of this month’s Games in Italy. #MilanoCortina2026 #wintervibe
