CGTN China’s high-speed rail: Fuxing Intelligent EMU gets ‘spa’ treatment #CoolChina

The 2026 Spring Festival travel rush officially begins on February 2.
At an EMU maintenance depot under the China Railway Guangzhou Group, the Fuxing Intelligent EMU – a flagship of China’s high-speed rail network – is getting a “full-body spa” before going back into service.
Each train undergoes exterior cleaning every 48 hours or after 9,900 kilometers of operation. Using a fully automated washing system with train ID recognition, remote monitoring and water-saving technology, the process now takes just five minutes, compared to more than an hour in the past.
