CGTN China lodges protests over monument demolition in Panama

From Saturday night into Sunday morning, a local government demolished the #China–#Panama Friendship Park and the monument marking the 150th anniversary of the #Chinese community’s arrival in Panama, triggering shock, strong indignation and firm opposition from the Chinese side. On Sunday, Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino issued a statement explicitly opposing the demolition of the monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Chinese immigrants in Panama. Mulino ordered the immediate restoration of the monument at its original site, which is located at the viewpoint of the Bridge of the Americas on the western side of the Panama Canal.
