Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun criticized Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s remarks on China’s Taiwan region as a serious act that undermines the political foundation of China-Japan relations. Guo stressed that Japan’s attempt to downplay the issue by “no longer mentioning” the remarks is merely a self-serving narrative. China firmly rejects such an approach.
