Calls for harsher penalties for people who assault healthcare workers
The Barbados Nurses Association is calling for harsher penalties for people who assault healthcare workers.

President Dr Faye Parris made the call earlier today, expressing concern and disappointment over a recent court ruling. A man who slapped a 64-year-old nurse at the Randall Phillips Polyclinic last month was ordered to pay $400 in compensation.

Dr. Parris described the ruling as a slap in the face to nurses across Barbados.
