This marks the first major concerted effort by the world’s leading powers to break the ‘chokehold’ imposed on the Strait of Hormuz by Iran. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has explicitly stated that his country will not become directly involved in the ongoing conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The meeting of leaders from these 35 nations will focus on deliberating how to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
