BNA president bowing out
Dr. Cameita Douglin will not be seeking re-election as president of the Barbados Netball Association at next month’s annual general meeting.
In a letter to all clubs and players, Dr. Douglin, who was elected to the post in 2022, thanked the netball fraternity for their support over her three-year tenure.
The announcement comes at a time when the senior national netball team finds itself at a crossroads in terms of world rankings.
Barbados has slipped further away from the top ten and is now 19th in the world after a string of poor performances on the international stage.
At the local level, Dr. Douglin has been advocating for the redevelopment of the Netball Stadium in Waterford, which is now being transformed by Government into an indoor multi-sport arena.
Speaking to CBC Sports, Dr. Douglin said she plans to continue working with netball.
