Bangkok Sinkhole Causes Chaos, Swallows Car and Electrical Poles, No Casualties | #shorts
Thai authorities rushed to contain a massive sinkhole near a hospital in central Bangkok that disrupted utilities and traffic on September 24. The 50-metre deep (164 feet) sinkhole extended about 900 square metres in front of the Vajira Hospital, halting traffic. The hospital announced that it would not take on patients during the incident. Footage showed authorities gathering at the scene while a vehicle leaned precariously at the edge of the sinkhole. Two electrical poles and a tow truck from the nearby Samsen police station fell into the sinkhole, according to local media reports. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters that dirt from an underground train construction was sliding in, which caused the sinkhole.
