As Trump Threatens War In Africa, Arab Ally Gives US Big Shock: ‘Mistake…’| Sudan| Nigeria
At the Manama Dialogue in Bahrain, Emirati presidential adviser Anwar Gargash admitted that “everyone made a mistake” in handling Sudan’s crisis, a rare acknowledgment from a top Gulf diplomat.
Speaking on Sunday, Gargash reflected on the UAE’s support for Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and said regional powers failed to condemn the 2021 military takeover that ousted Sudan’s civilian government.
His comments come as the RSF captured el-Fasher, the last Sudanese army stronghold in Darfur, in what the UN called a “terrible escalation.” The war has killed over 40,000 people and displaced 14 million since it began more than 31 months ago.
