Apple, Whatsapp Alert Users Of Spyware: Pledge User Protection Against Spyware | WION

Apple and WhatsApp have vowed to continue warning users if their phones are targeted by government spyware, even in the US. This comes as spyware makers like Paragon Solutions and NSO Group seek deeper access to the American market.

Paragon already secured a deal with US immigration authorities, while NSO Group appointed former US Ambassador David Friedman as executive chairman of its holding company. Both companies’ spyware can hack phones without the user knowing, posing risks to journalists, business leaders, and human rights activists.
