Founded in the late 1980s, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) brings together member economies of diverse cultures and development levels, aiming for regional free trade and economic cooperation. With 21 economies banding together, APEC has enabled tremendous growth. That’s what Eduardo Pedrosa, the executive director of the APEC Secretariat, shared with CGTN’s Tian Wei in a conversation. In today’s world, it’s even more critical to engage in dialogue, allowing countries with differing interests to reach a consensus. This is why platforms like APEC exist.
