US, Pakistan sign ‘rare earth’ minerals deal, pact inked post Shehbaz, Munir’s meet with Trump
US & Pakistan have entered in the new phase of economic-strategic partnership that was never seen before. Both sides are advancing towards execution of an agreement for rare earth minerals export, as Dawn reported. As per report, US Strategic Metals, has signed a MoU with Pak in September and already sent 1st sample consignment as part of deal to US. This was seen during Trump-Sharif-Munir meeting at Oval office where Pak Army chief Asim Munir was seen showing minerals to POTUS. The plan can lead to absolute carnage in KPK, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan regions to extract mineral resources from Pakistan. The US has firm plan to invest around 500M US dollars to build minerals processing & development facilities in Pakistan. In official statement, USSM narrated shipment as “a milestone in the Pakistan-US strategic partnership.” As per the Dawn, this MoU could give Pakistan foothold in the global critical minerals market. It is believed that the Pakistan has mineral reserves are estimated at around USD 6 trillion. The deal for U.S. seen as the collaboration promises greater access to essential raw materials while reducing dependency on dominant external suppliers.Meanwhile, Pak’s opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), voiced strong the agreement. PTI’s Information Secy Sheikh Waqqas Akram has urged govt to release full details of “secret deals” with U.S.
