UPS plane crashes in Louisville, authorities on alert, injuries reported, police probe underway
UPS plane crashed in Louisville, Kentucky shortly after take-off en route to Honolulu on November 4. Federal Aviation Administration reported the crash, while local police said injuries were reported. UPS Flight 2976 crashed around 5:15 pm local time, after departing Muhammad Ali International Airport: FAA. UPS also confirmed about the crash, although ‘yet to confirm any injuries or casualties at this time’. Footage showed red-orange glow of flames from fires ignited on the ground by the crash spread over nearly a mile. Airport is home to UPS Worldport, global hub for delivery firm’s air cargo operations & largest package handling facility. Louisville Metro Police Department said it was responding to reports of a plane crash and that injuries had been reported. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear posted on his ‘X’ account immediately after the crash, ‘prayed for piolets, crew & everyone’.
