Poll gone wrong, Musk’s X ‘surprises’ Navarro again after ‘fact-check’ over India-Russia oil trade
US President Trump’s aide Peter Navarro fumed over Elon Musk’s X’s ‘fact-check’ mechanism, after he got fact-checked by ‘community notes’ over his post blaming India of ‘fueling Russian war’. He called the community notes “crap” and alleged Musk of allowing “propaganda into people’s posts”. Building over the background, he posted a poll on the relevance of such community notes. Contrary to his belief, the poll turned out to be in support of ‘X’, commending the community notes. Notable, drama unfolded on Social Media after Trump hailed ‘Special India-US relationship’ from Oval Office. After Trump’s remarks,Peter Navarro took to Social Media with surprisingly contrasting sentiments. Navarro posted accusing India of fueling Ukraine war, highlighting India’s purchase of Russian oil. In response to which, community notes countered his claims, and highlighted increase in US-Russia trade. He alleged the community notes to be “trying to interfere in US’ domestic dialogue with lies”. Should X present this crap as comments from ‘diverse viewpoints’, Navarro asked in a poll on ‘X’. As it turned out, more users voted in “positive”, exactly opposite to Navarro’s sentiments.
