PM Modi dials Nepal’s PM Sushila Karki, reaffirms India’s steadfast support to restore peace
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 18 rang up Nepal’s interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki. He conveyed heartfelt condolences on the recent tragic loss of lives and reaffirmed India’s steadfast support. PM Modi also extended warm greeting to the PM and people of Nepal on their National Day. The recent Gen-Z protests in Nepal have left a trail of grief and uncertainty, particularly for the families of victims. Gen Z protesters brought down a government in under 48 hours and forces KP Sharma Oli to resign. Sushila Karki is the first female Chief Justice and now the first female Prime Minister of Nepal. She is backed by the Gen Z-led movement that has transformed the Nepal’s political landscape. PM Karki will hold the position till March 5, 2026, after which fresh elections will be held for the post.
