Palestinian envoy on BRICS membership, attacks on journalists by Israel, release of hostages
Palestinian Ambassador to India, Abdullah Abu Shawesh, in an exclusive interaction, outlined Palestine’s aspirations to join BRICS, urging India’s support for its membership bid. He strongly criticized Israeli actions, alleging deliberate targeting of 252 Palestinian journalists, including six killed at Nasser Hospital, while underlining the risks faced by reporters in conflict zones. On the sensitive issue of hostages, Shawesh said there are nearly 12,000 Palestinians imprisoned in Israeli jails and about 20 Israeli hostages in Gaza.
