“No Kings” Protests Decry Trump’s ‘Authoritarian’ Policies as Huge Crowds Gather Across US Cities
Thousands of protesters rallied across U.S. cities on October 18, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, denouncing President Donald Trump. Protestors flash “No Kings” message making accusations of authoritarianism and threats to democracy. Organized by over 300 grassroots groups, including progressive organization Indivisible, the protests targeted Trump’s policies. Protestors march against his policies of crackdown on immigration, deployment of National Guard troops to cities, and criminal prosecution of political opponents. Protesters nationwide carried signs, banners, and balloons, chanting slogans in a carnival-like atmosphere.
