Massive Drug Haul! El Salvador Navy seizes 1.4 tonnes of drugs in high Maritime raid
El Salvador’s Navy has seized 1.4 tonnes of drugs floating in the Pacific Ocean, in the south of the Central American country, according to a report released on Tuesday (September 16). Defense Minister Vice Admiral Rene Merino said the recovery suggests traffickers were tipped off about naval operations and abandoned the shipment to escape arrest. According to authorities, the haul was found about 900 nautical miles southwest of El Cordoncillo Island last week. The Salvadoran government said the drugs, valued at around 35 million dollars, bring the total seized in 2025 to over 21 tonnes at sea. Since President Nayib Bukele took office, authorities have confiscated more than 71 tonnes of drugs.
