India shouldn’t bend to Trump, seize reforms, win long game: Ex-G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant ‘uncensored’
Former NITI Aayog CEO and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant joined ANI National Bureau Chief Naveen Kapoor for an exclusive interview, where he shed light on the ongoing geopolitical events concerning India. From India-US relations to how India should engage with China, Amitabh Kant explained it all. He affirmed that PM Modi has invested heavily in the relationship with the United States over the past decade and emphasized that India ‘should not bend’ to Trump’s arbitrary tariff impositions. Adding to that, he suggested that to boost the Indian economy, India should pursue joint ventures with China. Calling out the US’s double standards, he said US must also impose additional tariffs on Turkey, China, and even US importers, as they too import heavily from Russia. He advised that India should pursue reforms and view this as an opportunity. Kant also highlighted that India must boost tourism and infuse ₹20,000 Crore into the sector. With 1,100 planes being purchased, he stressed that they should be used to bring in foreign tourists, maximizing India’s tourism growth potential.
