Historic breakthrough in anti-LWE drive! Over 200 Naxalities surrender in Jagdalpur
In a significant step towards ending Left-Wing Extremism, 208 Naxalites, including 110 women and 98 men, surrendered in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, returning 153 weapons. This event marks a major victory for the government’s ongoing Naxal Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025. Senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, called it a turning point, with most of Abujhmad and North Bastar now considered free from Naxal influence. Among those who surrendered were high-ranking Maoist leaders, including Central and Zonal Committee members. The surrendered arms included AK-47s, SLRs, and INSAS rifles. Shah highlighted that 258 Naxalites had surrendered in just two days across Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, reflecting growing trust in government initiatives. The state has seen nearly 2,110 surrenders in the past 22 months. Officials credit the success to expanded security presence, development programs, and trust-building efforts, signaling a new chapter of peace in the region.
