Furious protesters burn vehicles, pelt stones as Assam police take Zubeen case accused to Baksa Jail
Violent protest erupted outside Baksa District Jail in after five accused in Zubeen Garg death case taken to the jail. Vehicles set on fire, stones pelted as the crowd turned violent, and accused administration of bypassing the justice. Earlier, police brought the accused through a huge crowd gathered to oppose the move by the administration. Protesters started pelted stones targeting the vehicles carrying the accused persons to the jail. All five accused: main event organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma, his cousin Sandipan Garg (suspended APS officer) and two PSOs Nandeswar Bora, were brought to the jail after the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) today sent them to judicial custody.
