Cambodian troops start moving tanks from border area as US mediated ceasefire signed with Thailand
Cambodian Interior Ministry shared video showing troops preparing for disarmament near border areas on October 26. This came after Thailand and Cambodia signed ‘Trump-brokered’ ceasefire agreement in Malaysia. Cambodian Defence Ministry spokeswoman, Maly Socheata in a statement said troops have started the ‘partial removal’ of the first phase. According to her, ‘partial removal’ of 1st phase of troop withdrawal started ‘demonstrating sincerity’ to recently signed joint peace agreement. Thailand-Cambodia signed joint ceasefire agreement on October 26 in Malaysia mediated by US. The agreement builds on truce was signed 3-month ago after POTUS urged leaders of both countries to end hostilities. Trump also mediated ceasefire over warnings of halting trade with both Thailand & Cambodia. On October 26, Trump after ceasefire agreement signed ‘major’ deals with both nations on trade & critical minerals.
