Breaking! Border tensions escalate b/w Pakistan-Afghanistan, Qatar calls for dialogue & diplomacy
The state of Qatar expressed concern as the tension in border areas b/w Pakistan & Afghanistan has escalated. Qatar also showed concern over the potential repercussions for the security & stability in the region. Qatari Foreign Ministry urged both Pakistan & Afghanistan to prefer dialogue, diplomacy, and restraint in order to de-escalate tension. MoFA reiterated the Qatar’s support for regional & international efforts to achieved peace and security. Qatar affirmed their commitment to ensure ‘security & prosperity’ of Pak and Afghanistan. Earlier, firefights erupted at Pakistan-Afghanistan border after Taliban forces attacked Pakistani posts on October 11, Reuters reported. This Clash followed a Pakistani airstrike in Kabul earlier this week, prompting retaliation from the Afghan Taliban, said officials. Pakistani officials confirmed border clashes at over five locations, stating their forces were responding to Taliban attacks.
