BJD’s Ganeswar Behera thanks Naveen Patnaik for writing to JP Nadda over fertilizer shortage issue
On former Odisha CM and LoP Naveen Patnaik’s letter to Union Minister JP Nadda, BJD leader Ganeswar Behera said, “I must thank Naveen Patnaik for writing a letter to JP Nadda on the shortage of supply of fertiliser in the state. He has written at the right time…It is an undeniable fact that fertiliser is not adequately available to farmers…The government said we have the stock…Where does the fertiliser go? It is being sold to private traders…This is a terrible lack of sympathy and concern..You (the Government) are not walking the talk…The fertiliser is being black marketed. Money is being made from it…I protest it strongly…In 2018, we were told that this (Talcher) fertiliser plant would be operational in 2021…7 years have gone by. It still remains non-functional…We demand immediate control and action on black marketers and immediate supply of fertiliser in adequate quantity to farmers…”
