Amit Shah in all-out mode to eliminate naxalism from country by March 31, 2026
Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that India will be free of Naxalism by March 31, 2026, but emphasized that the fight must go beyond armed conflict. He stressed the need to confront the ideological, legal, and financial support systems that have sustained the movement. Shah also spoke on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the success of the government’s policy after the abrogation of Article 370. He noted a significant decline in violence, with a 65% drop in security personnel deaths and a 77% drop in civilian casualties. For the first time since independence, Panchayat elections were held with a record 99.8% voter turnout, marking a major step toward democratic normalization in the region.
