Ahmedabad’s ‘Pagdi Man’ Anuj Mudliar creates 3-kg sindoor-themed turban for Navratri. Ahmedabad-based artist Anuj Mudliar, popularly known as “Pagdi Man,” has once again captured the city’s attention this Navratri with his unique, giant turban design.
This year, Mudliar has unveiled an eye-catching turban based on the theme “Operation Sindoor.” The one-of-a-kind turban weighs over 3 kilograms, and when paired with his complete traditional Navratri attire, the total weight exceeds 14 kilograms. Mudliar shares that he spends nearly the entire year preparing for Navratri. “Every year, I choose a completely new theme, and this time, it took me four months to complete the turban,” he said.
Known for pushing the boundaries of traditional attire, Mudliar’s massive turbans have become a symbol of festive creativity in Gujarat. For him, the joy lies in keeping the spirit of Navratri alive through art and devotion.
