On trade relation between India and Afghanistan, ASSOCHAM Secretary General Manish Singhal said that “We had the opportunity to welcome the Commerce Minister of Afghanistan Nooruddin Azizi. He was here to talk about more trade and investment between India and Afghanistan. He also shared how the ground situation in Afghanistan has changed to become more useful and helpful for business in terms of safety and movement of people… Many businesses are already doing a lot of trade with India, but they are already doing trade with other countries, which could be easily done with India. So he said they would rather buy those things from India… Now Afghanistan is looking at more trade opportunities, largely food products, some commodities and also Indian companies making small investments, either in terms of technology, if not money, to a little more of value addition rather than just getting the commodities”.
