State of Kerala’s name to be changed to ‘Keralam’ after first Union Cabinet meeting at Seva Teerth. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “Among the important decisions taken by the cabinet today, the first decision is to change the name of Kerala to Keralam. Another is to double the Gondia-Jabalpur railway line. The third and fourth railway lines from Punarakh-Kiul in Bihar, and the third and fourth lines from Gamharia-Chandil in Jharkhand. A new integrated airport terminal in Srinagar, an extension of the Ahmedabad Metro, a major policy decision in the power sector, and a decision on the MSP of raw jute were taken. Today, decisions worth Rs 12,236 crore and two major policy decisions were taken.”
