West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a strong political attack on Narendra Modi and Amit Shah after the Union Cabinet approved renaming Kerala as “Keralam” but has yet to approve her state’s long-standing proposal to rename West Bengal as Bangla. Mamata accused the Centre of discrimination and “Bengal-birodhi” bias, saying the delay undermines Bengal’s cultural identity despite repeated requests.
