ANI News LIVE BREAKING: ‘getting close’ President Trump’s Big statement on Government Shutdown

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday (November 9) the government shutdown may be nearing a resolution, telling reporters it “looks like we’re getting very close”.
He insisted he would not approve “any substantial money” for what he described as “prisoners” or “illegals,” and that Democrats understood that.
Trump’s remarks came as the shutdown reached day 40 — the longest in U.S. history — sidelining federal workers and disrupting food assistance, national parks and air travel. Environment and travel officials have warned of staffing strains for air traffic control that could snarl Thanksgiving travel.
Senators expect a Sunday night vote on advancing a House-passed bill that will be amended to combine the short-term funding measure, which would fund the government through January 2026, with a package of three full-year appropriations bills, Senate Majority Leader John Thune said.
The amended package would still have to be passed by the House of Representatives and sent to President Donald Trump for his signature, a process that could take several days.
