South Lebanon villages face no power, water or schools after last year’s war
A family in southern Lebanon has returned to Abou Chach village, which Israel destroyed.
Despite their home being ruined, they now live primitively in a former cowshed because they could no longer afford rent.
Nearly 100,000 people remain displaced from the region.
The Abou Chach village is now a ghost town with no schools, shops, or basic infrastructure.
Their only visitors are UN peacekeepers, who provide some support.
While happy to be home, they face a difficult and isolated existence, simply trying to live in the moment.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from Abou Chach village in southern Lebanon.
