Qatar ‘focused on making sure ceasefire holds’: PM
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani says Qatar and other mediators have been “engaging in a very intensive way” to ensure the Gaza ceasefire holds.
Speaking during a Council on Foreign Relations event, Sheikh Mohammed said the attack on Israeli soldiers was a violation of the agreement between Israel and Hamas.
“Fortunately, I think the main parties – both of them – are acknowledging that the ceasefire should hold and they should stick to the agreement,” he said.
“We remain focused on making sure that the ceasefire itself holds.”
