Qatar challenges EU sustainability law at global gas forum
Qatar is calling on the European Union to scale back its new sustainability law, which could fine violators up to 5% of global revenue. The country’s energy minister says Qatar would rather keep its gas in the ground than export under such strict penalties. Ministers, regulators, and experts from nations holding nearly 70% of global gas reserves are meeting in Doha for the 27th Gas Exporting Countries Forum. The discussions focus on energy security, global demand, and the future of sustainable gas production.

Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid reports from Doha.
