Gaza’s first women’s film festival screens ‘Voice of Hind Rajab’ in poignant tribute
Palestinians in central Gaza have gathered at the inaugural Gaza International Film Festival for Women’s Cinema to watch Voice of Hind Rajab — an award-winning documentary about six-year-old Hind Rajab, who was killed by Israeli forces last year.
The film portrays Hind’s final moments as she pleaded for help while trapped in her family’s car surrounded by Israeli soldiers.
The screening drew an emotional response from the audience, many of whom said the story mirrored their own suffering.
The film has gained international recognition for its powerful depiction of Gaza’s ongoing tragedy, highlighting the human toll of the conflict through the eyes of a child.
The event also served as a poignant moment of remembrance for Hind and her family.
As Palestinians rebuild their lives amid a fragile ceasefire, the festival stands as a testament to their resilience and determination to reclaim their narratives.
Al Jazeera’s Lina Abu Akleh reports.
