Gaza families endure severe shortages after Israel hits water pipeline
Millions in Gaza are facing a critical water crisis as Israeli strikes have disrupted essential supplies, leaving over 75% of the area’s central water wells out of service.
The destruction of vital infrastructure, including the Mekorot main line in Shujayea, has cut daily water access by 70%, forcing people to queue for hours in desperate attempts to secure what little remains. Aid group withdrawals have further worsened the humanitarian situation.
Residents describe the dire conditions, with children and families suffering the most.
Local officials warn that Gaza is receiving less than 25% of its daily water needs, and with resources dwindling, the struggle for water has turned into a daily fight for survival.

Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim al-Khalili reports from Gaza City, Palestine.
