Palestinians returning to the wreckage of war in southern Gaza are using what they can to start rebuilding their lives.
Some families have pitched their tents over the decommissioned Israeli armoured vehicles, which are known as ‘explosive robots’ — machines once used to level neighbourhoods with massive explosives.
What was once a symbol of destruction has become, for a few returning families, the foundation of their temporary shelters.
Ayman Qadourah is one man trying to rebuild over the rubble.
