Curfew imposed in India’s Ladakh after deadly protests for statehood killed four people
In India, a curfew has been imposed in the Ladakh territory in the Himalayas, after at least four people were killed during outbreaks of violence between protesters and police.
Another 50 were injured, including dozens of police officers.
Demonstrators were calling for Ladakh to become a state and for workers to get better protection.
The Buddhist-Muslim territory lost its autonomy in 2019 when it was placed under direct administration from Delhi.
