Colombia court ruling: Former president Alvaro Uribe’s conviction quashed
A court has overturned a conviction against former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe on charges of bribery and witness tampering. Uribe was released three weeks into a 12-year home detention sentence handed down in August. The case centred on allegations he tried to influence witnesses, who accused him of having links to a paramilitary group in the 1990s. He denies any wrongdoing.
