Australia to send hundreds to Nauru in $1.6bn migrant resettlement deal
Australia’s parliament has passed a controversial plan to resettle hundreds of people who have been denied refugee visas because of criminal convictions.
The federal government has committed to pay the Pacific Island of Nauru more than $1.5bn over the next 30 years to house those whose refugee visas have been denied.
