Al Jazeera English Ukraine war: Kyiv residents fear escalation amid Zelenskyy-Trump peace talks

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is en route to Florida to discuss a new peace plan draft with US President Trump.
However, fresh Russian attacks on Kyiv have left a third of the city without power, undermining local confidence.
Ukrainians see continued aggression, not peace, and doubt the Kremlin would accept any agreement.
A Ukrainian MP states the sole obstacle is Putin himself, who “cannot stop” and will only escalate.
The Kremlin has remained silent on the latest proposal, but Putin has reiterated his readiness to fight on.
He warns that if Kyiv refuses a peaceful solution, Russia will achieve all its military objectives by force.
Amidst the talks, Ukrainians live in hope that a return to full-scale conflict can be averted.
