Al Jazeera English Uganda reflects on 40 years of Yoweri Museveni’s rule, liberation and controversy

Uganda is marking the day rebels led by now president, Yoweri Museveni, overthrew the sitting government in 1986, after a five-year guerrilla war.
Museveni was once seen as a visionary strategist who helped topple three brutal leaders.
But some Ugandans now say he’s presiding over an administration that no longer respects human rights.
