Sudan’s army chief rejects quad truce proposal as ‘worst yet’ amid mediation row

Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan says the latest truce proposal from mediators is the “worst yet” and unacceptable to his government.
Al-Burhan says the group of mediators – known as the Quad – remain ‘biased’ as long as the United Arab Emirates is a member.
But he welcomed peace efforts by Saudi Arabia, which has also urged US President Donald Trump to get involved to try to end the war in the country.
