Al Jazeera English Israel plans buffer zone up to Litani River in southern Lebanon

Israel says it plans to control territory in southern Lebanon up to the Litani River, around 30 kilometres inside, as a buffer zone—about a tenth of Lebanon’s land.

The Israeli military has destroyed at least six bridges along the river in less than two weeks, citing Hezbollah movements, and seeks control of remaining crossings.
