Al Jazeera English Gaza winter crisis: surviving the weather becomes as urgent as surviving the war
Heavy rain has flooded displacement camps in Gaza, worsening an already dire humanitarian crisis for Palestinians.
Families who lost homes and loved ones say the flooding is another layer of suffering, not a natural disaster alone.
In camps east of Deir el-Balah, tents have turned into muddy traps, forcing families to flee without basic belongings.
Displaced parents say they cannot keep their children warm or retrieve food, bedding or clothing.
Soaked mattresses, blankets and supplies are being washed away in the floods.
As storms intensify, surviving the weather has become as urgent as surviving the war.
The flooding underscores the extreme vulnerability of displaced Palestinians in Gaza.
Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim al-Khalili reports from Deir el-Balah, Gaza, Palestine.
