Al Jazeera English China military exercises off Taiwan are a clear signal to the US: Analysis

China has deployed army, navy and air force units around Taiwan for what it calls military exercises.
Taiwan has responded by mobilising its own forces, saying it will “defend democracy”.
The drills come 11 days after the United States announced an $11.1bn arms package for Taipei, one of its largest ever weapons sales to the self-governing island.
Beijing strongly criticised the deal and warned it would respond with what it called “forceful measures”.
